3 Beautiful Beaches in Santa Barbara With Kids

It’s hard to go wrong when visiting beaches in Santa Barbara with kids. All of the beaches we visited during our trip were unique and beautiful in their own way. It’s worth noting that we visited in January so we missed the crowds of high season. The weather was crisp and cool with temps usually in the 50s and 60s.

Santa Barbara, known for its beautiful coastline, offers families a chance to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. In this guide, we’ll take a straightforward look at three beaches—East Beach, Goleta Beach Park, and Arroyo Burro Beach—highlighting their features and family-friendly activities.


East Beach: Casual Fun by the Waves

East Beach, located along Cabrillo Boulevard, is popular for its calm waves and clean sands. During our visit, recent storms left the beach a bit messy, but the kids had a blast jumping off mounds of sand. East Beach is right next to Stearns Wharf. East Beach Parking Information

Plenty of parking along Cabrillo Boulevard and adjacent lots. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends.

Each beach has its own charm, but Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry’s), with its natural beauty and unique features, was a favorite. This was quintessential Pacific coastline with its rocky shores and unique features and laid back vibe. By far one of our favorite beaches in Santa Barbara with kids.
