Our recent discovery, Jeannine’s at the Shore in Santa Barbara, turned out to be the ideal spot—a no-fuss dining paradise across the street from the beach and Stearns Wharf. It struck the perfect balance – casual enough for us to bring the kids and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere, yet nice enough for Jamie and me to feel like we were on vacation.

When we got to Jeannine’s, the long line showed it’s a popular spot. But the quick counter service, where you order but still get table service, made it super easy—especially with the kids. It was a stress-free dining experience. Be prepared for a line during popular times. You may need to keep the kids busy or have someone wait in line for you.

Jeannine’s at the Shore keeps it simple and tasty. With a menu ranging from classics to coastal delights, their waffles and French toast are hits. Our kids love breakfast so much that we order off of the adult menu and there are usually no leftovers but they have kids items if needed. Parents can grab some adult drinks too! They serve alcohol.
