Kids Love The Santa Barbara Harbor Breakwater Wall

Be Brave at the Breakwater Wall!

Walking the Breakwater Wall needs a bit of courage. The waves can be strong, and you might get a little wet, or soaked especially if the waves are big. But the kids loved it. They found the waves exciting, especially since we’re from landlocked Colorado, and this was a new experience for them. It’s like a natural splash pad! Even our youngest, who’s three, went from being cautious to wanting more waves by the end.

The Path Over The Santa Barbara Harbor Breakwater Wall

The walkway offers a smooth and flat paved path, extending over 1,200 feet as an out-and-back route. Along our stroll, we paused multiple times to observe and playfully dodge the waves. While there’s a small beach at the end of the walkway, we chose not to venture that way due to its rocky and muddy terrain. Our visit to the harbor lasted approximately an hour, allowing us to enjoy the scenic surroundings and the excitement of the waves.
